Hey guys,

I've been looking through the forum for induction kits. I've gathered that the Gruppe M kit looks great but how good is it?

I can't seem to find much info about it on the net.

Does anyone have any info at all price, full spec etc?

Can you only get them straight from Gruppe M?

Thanks for any help.

I believe they only come directly from Gruppe M (actually in Japan). I was quoted 78,000 Yen to have one shipped.... that's a mighty £330...

Think I'll go for the Carbonio at about £190 - its highly rated on here :driver:
A quick google search threw up the following website which is based in the UK for the Gruppe M stuff:

http://www.gruppemeurope.com

A quote from the website:
FOR PRODUCT PRICES PLEASE EMAIL @: [email protected]

The R32 intake is item number FRI-0178.

It states that the orders are still taken in Japan and shipped from Japan so I really dont see what the point in this European based Gruppe M company is.
Ive emailed Gruppe M europe to find out if they have the R32 intake in stock and what their purpose is if they dont hold stock of products seeing as they state that everything is shipped from Japan and payments are taken in Japan.
I did think that was weird at first. I used that email address and it was forwarded straight to a guy called Hoya in Japan.

Hoya emailed back to explain that Gruppe M Europe only supply racing products. All road products come from Japan.....
I see, thanks for clarifying Dom :)

Maybe I will get a Gruppe-M for my new motor
From Europe, 50? Perhaps a track day car then, and you're keeping the R after all....

On a serious note - when will the new car be revealed? I noticed you have been keeping a secret on a few other threads!
Guys,

I've been trying to find out more about Gruppe M from the Japanese side, to see if local pricing is any different.

Unfortunately no joy so far. I always look out for them at motorsport events/shows. Will let you know if I find any at a more sensible price.

That's brilliant, cheers James - let us know what you find out :top:

Cheers Khutula - unfortunately I won't be in a position to do it this w/e, but thats a good deal...

I'd be interested to see who charged Dai £350 for a carbonio?! :banghead:

Don't think they do a Mk5 version unfortunately (according to their website)
Thanks for all the help guys, especially fifty!

I think getting the Gruppe M is too much hassle and it is very expensive after all. Is it actually better than the Carbonio or BMC CDA?

I originally wanted to get the BMC CDA but the carbonio does get a good write up. Will the Carbonio suck water in as the filter is located so far down?

the filter is in the best place, under bonnet means heat, down by the grill (especially if you have the vented grills) means within the cold air stream. cold=good

if your worried about hydro lock plumb in an air bypass valve :D
Thanks for that Very Cherry,

I'm still a bit worried about hydro lock though, i know with the air bypass valve it will be ok.

where can i get the AEM bypass valve from in the UK? Do i have to chop up the nice carbon pipe? If so i'd rather just get a BMC CDA?

Thanks again!
Not read every post so apologies if the gruppe M intake isn't the topic anymore :)

I've just ordered one of these from Japan. Can order them for anyone who wants one?
