Hi,went to the local VW dealers for quote on haldex oil and filter change .
on my MK4, £195.00!Then went to local specialist,£78.00 all in.Watched the specialist carry out the work and all done in exactly 11 mins! That makes VW dealers A very rich and B an hourly labour rate of £166.20 as the parts cost £28.80.Any thoughts.

I had my engine oil and haldex oil changed at the same time by my local vw garage and they charged me £450..............nice:mellow:
We must have "cheapish" VW dealers then down this part of the country they "only" charge £80 an hour :blushed:
G
Awesome GTI charged me

£45.00 + VAT for the labour to fit HPP and do Haldex service at the same time

and £30.00 + VAT for the filter and oil - bargain.
hey, think i might have ago at the haldex service myself. do you have a part number for the filter please?? I know what VW are like for not understanding what people ask for.

thanks
My R is due for a 50K service soon,

Where is the best place for the service

(Contacted my local VW garage Vindis two weeks ago but still no price, Poor service)

What is done @50K service or do I have to get it done @ VW garage as I have WARRANTY from VW and want the doors lifted (To stop slamming it),

Also the brakes are not as good as my old VW Golf MK4 TDI when in the wet, Also have rattle I think in the passenger door and also the rear center ash tray,(vibrates)

Thanks,

I'm doing mine tomorrow if the weather holds out..got all the bits yesterday

Filter: W02D 525 558 A £22.32 + vat

Oil and tool can be got from GSF... £10 for genuine Haldex brand oil and £25 for the tool

so £60 all in...but of course then you'll have the tool to do it in future
rear haldex cost me £60 labour and about 30 for the parts. vwlist it as taking an hour to do.

caxton, had 50k done on mine 2 weeks ago, haldex normal oil change filter taken off long life servicing. and full inspection service cost me £218 that was with 10 percent off parts and labour from my local dealer in newark. long life service would have cost 280. but for miles i do its not worth it, hope that helps mate.
Hi Gaz,

When I contacted VW (I got service prices for £180.00-£350.00 for service @60K)

Only one garage said about the haldex needed doing, So I will be going to APS.

See my post about service 60K

Thanks young man.
haldex shouldn't need doing at 50k. mine needed doing as it was last done at 30k its every 20k it needs doing. but aps will do good job.
