At a set of lights today, rain coming down, I'm turning right and noticed an E46 M3 behind me. Lights change and filter light comes on so I quickly [not too quickly tho] make the right turn. Looking in my rear view mirror I was astonished to see the M3 sideways.......and I mean so sideways I could almost see his exhaust pipes lol, the driver scrapping with the wheel then he managed to straighten up.
As I was laughing like a kid he raced up behind me right on my bumper....to prove what I dont know. He must have seen my shoulders bobbing up as I giggled to myself.
M3 power !

I love the R, the traction is unreal.. Even doing a full on launch in the rain, it just squats down and off you go!

I must say I hate my m3 all it wants to do is go sideways which is fun but sometimes you need grip that's why I'm going back to R32

I know what you mean there. I hated driving mine, even in the dry it was an animal.

That's where these two cars differ so much
M3 is always regarded as a driver's car, but sometimes RWD well....

R32 is just planted all year round, and it's something that no Golf GTI driver seems to understand

I borrowed my friends M3 for a few days years ago, and yes it was fun, but it always feels like you can slide the tail when the Golf just felt like it stuck to the road like glue

I had a similar encounter with an XKR yesterday through Hatfield. Coming up to a round-a-bout on a right turn S bend, he came steaming up behind me, pulled nearside and TRIED to undertake in the wet

Or wear sun-glasses or have a bluetooth peice in.
And you won't be classed as a typical BMW driver

The day my R was booked in for its MOT I had to take it up a dual carriageway to get the sports cats up to a nice temperature. It was pissing down. I get to a round a bout and low and behold there was a M3. He gets behind me in no time at all but we are approaching another round a bout. I take it quite fast and look in my rear view mirror and he's way behind. I was laughing my head off. He wasn't impressed one bit and must of overtook me at well over 100 mph in frustration. I meet him at a set of traffic lights where he is stopped and I wasted him again off the line.

That did put a huge grin on my face I can tell you.

Similar experience the other day when a guy in an old 3 series decided to have a go. Came off first exit of a big roundabout flat out, see him behind me going sideways. Made me chuckle and thank the 4WD for the amazing cornering the r32 is capable of.
