Everything in the car is custom built... No moulds or anything have been taken...

You need to make sure you installer is up to the job... someone like SQ+ in Manchester would be appropiate!

Hi Martyn, welcome to the site.

I'll be buying a new Mk5 in the summer. I'm planning on fitting the full Milltek system and I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on how you've found it? Also, what's involved in the APS 300BHP conversion? And finally how does the Mk5 compare to the Mk4? (sorry for all the q's)

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave...

The New R is a fair bit faster.... But nowhere near as "raw" as the mk4...

The suspension on the mk4 could only be described as being hard and the exhaust noise was much louder...

The new car is sooo much more quiet and the ride quality is more grown up....

Is sort of like comparing a race car to a luxury car..

As for the APS conversion... They install cams, miltek exhaust(which I already have) remap and filter...

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply chap, I've heard reports that the full Milltek coupled with a remap is likely to have a negative effect on low end torque and it may be best to stick with the cat back only. Did the guys at APS mention this to you when you spoke with them?

At the moment I'm thinking of the following mods:

  • Milltek
  • BMC filter
  • Haldex controller
  • H&R Anti Roll Bars
  • Remap (APS, AMD, Revo, etc... - not sure)
  • KW Variant 3
  • HPA Short Shifter
  • Colour Coded Rear Valance

Any advice/thoughts on the above would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard -ve comments about the milltek manifolds and sports cats... However there is one lad on tyresmoke (brakesnake?) who has them fitted along with the cams and custom map - he made 307bhp on superchips RR...

Take that as you will... but the APS car - without exhaust made 295bhp... so the manifolds seem to give a little more when coupled with the cams and ramap...

However at £1250 + vat they are expensive!:stoned:

I have a set of KW variant 3 on there way..... so I am hoping to get them fitted along with cams and remap at the same time!

APS seem to be the boys when it comes to this tuning stuff:reddy:
