Hi people

When got the car, although out of warranty now, the car garage said that they did plugs and also took it to VW for DSG & Haldex to be done however I rang VW a couple of times just to make sure on different occasions to see what had been done. All they said that it was brought in for was DSG & Coilpack which the latter wouldn't cost them anything anyway. I contacted them to say whether it had been done and if they could give me or send a copy of the receipt for proof. They didnt 2 weeks on so I rang again and still being polite said that I was told I'd be called two weeks ago and that they hadn't been in touch at all. They said that they will get them but that it takes a bit of time as they are archived or something and that it may take a bit of time but a week or so only. Nearly three months on nothing has been done about it. They stamped the book an ticked the boxed but it hasn't been done.

What are my options.......?

Not completely sure what you are asking, but. If the car was serviced prior to you purchasing it then the receipt would be given to the person who owned and paid for the service work prior to you buying the car. They do not need to provide you with a receipt of any type.

If the stamp in the book is VW then the chances are that the work has been done unless someone nicked a stamp or something.

No this is a different car dealer that stamped but as they 'couldn't do the dsg an haldex they would take it to be done but only DSG was done but the garage the got it back and the book was written for haldex done yet VW didn't do it.

I don't think you will get anywhere just have it done yourself then you know for sure it's been done ?

1st port of call then would be speak to the supplying garage. Tell them the story in full and state that you have spoken with VW who keep comprehensive records of all work done. Ask them to show you the receipt if they claim VW have done it still.

I would then ask for it to either be done unless they can prove it has already been done, or ask for the cost of the Haldex service to be refunded so you can have it done at your leisure.

I would also make sure that the Haldex is due according to manufacturer guidelines, and hopefully you have something in writing to say that it would be done when you ordered/bought your car.

Well I got it at 60k and being due at 80k there were no records written in book(I know they do get forgotten) of previous haldex/DSG so I asked them if they would do it or rather said I wanted it doing if I was to purchase and they did so was done at 60k I presume. DSG but no Haldex.
