Today went to the post office to tax the 'R' and she started filling out the tax disc, it wasn't until she got to the price part she looked at the screen double then made a face and said " is that right.... £261...??

To my reply "yes that's right" in which she just said "oh, I just didnt want to over charge you"

The look on her face was quite amusing.

It is but I don't really find the petrol usage toooo bad as had a 2.0 focus rs rep before and with the newer electrics it wasn't much better an so I don't mind the tad expensive tax but still annoys me the tax change from 06 onwards lol. Oh well, a DBP, DSG and V6 sound makes me grin.

Even more annoying when you order the car in 2005, when it was around £200 and by the time it arrives from the factory in June 2006, Gordon Brown changes the rules.

Still amuses me that the TT RS cost half as much to tax that my R32 did. Still Id pay double if they actually spent the road tax on the roads ...

I'm sure even the MK2 TT with the 3.2V6 is in the lower band. Audi seemed to switch onto manipulating the CO2 figures quicker:)
