That's an insane difference - just goes to show it pays to shop around
i had the same thing when getting my insurance. i was phoning around and got a quote for £2800. i laughed at it and said to the bloke that i already have a quote for £960.defianty said:the woman on the other end of the phone almost accused me of lying. Basically saying that there was no way I could find cover for that price. Cheek! :xD
That's a good price Evo. My excess is a little higher than that, but I choose that as I'm lucky enough to have money to cover small incidents. I little risky perhaps, but it's done me well so far. I don't have my other half on the insurance as she's only 27 and I don't trust herEvolution said:That's unreal but it happens! Just think about the poor saps that simply sign the dotted line! And more to the point that £500 saving represents over 2 months of spirited driving, as far as fuel is concerned.
I'm 40, with full NCB and 3 points and have fully comp with Direct Line for £365 per annum with legal cover, missus to drive, hire car provision and a £250 excess (which is worth checking). I do have other home insurance policies with them which helps I think but I've used them for my performance cars for the last 5 years and they've always been absolutely great.

Yep, that's almost exactly what happened to me, it's mad!Chris R32 said:i had the same thing when getting my insurance. i was phoning around and got a quote for £2800. i laughed at it and said to the bloke that i already have a quote for £960.
he basically laughed back at me and said theres no way that can be right, and went further on to say "do they know its a 3.2" !!!! thats the kind of idiots your dealing with.
I guess you've probably got a few nice country routes up that way to go for a blast. Gets a bit congested down here.Chris R32 said:im from colchester
I pay less than that and I am only 22 with 1yr ncb!!! It shows the difference in postcode!!!defianty said:The R passed it's MOT this morning with flying colours and no advisories. Chuffed about that. Haven't timed it to well as i put a new MOT on the Porsche on Monday!
Anyway it's insurance time for the R, currently with Privilege, my renewal come through last week at £985!!!! Christ are they trying to taking the piss! I'm 35, got 10 years NCB accident and points free!!

£399! Slight difference I'd say!
How can these companies justify that kind of price difference for what is essentially the same product! I've just called Privilege to let them know that 'd not be renewing and the woman on the other end of the phone almost accused me of lying. Basically saying that there was no way I could find cover for that price. Cheek! :xD
Annoying how these companies try and rip us off, pays to look around guys!
If anyone's interested I'm now with Auto Direct.
Cheers
Nice one - drinks are on you thendefianty said:Just to wrap this up. I ended up going with Quoteline Direct, who offered protected no claims, legal cover, courtesy car etc. For the nice sum of £360. Total amount saved on my renewal quotation £625!!
but this is because you are seen as less of a risk, as you have in theory have resposibilities.epons300 said:What Does My Head In . I Am 32 Full No Claims (10 Yrs) No Points No Accidents.i Pay £365 With Gf On It. But If I Take The Gf Off It Would Cost More There Crazy Lol !!!!!!!!
That is good - bring on being 25 next year, only 8 months to go!!Rupo said:I try not to rock the boat too much, Im 25, 6 points and 3 yrs no claims and mine is 640quid with elephant. As long as its under 800quid I just pay it, Im well happy with it.
