A mk5 must be in a higher insurance group than a mk4 then?
I am 22 and I payed £490 this year, 3 years NBC, 3 points on license.
The area I live in is cheap for insurance though, guess your city based?

Age ? NCB ?

Admiral seem to be the cheapest by far quoting me £1,054 and that's age 21 and 2 years NCB and 0 Points..

I was previously with Elephant.
32 pal, 5 years driving but only 1 year ncb, no previous claims

Was still getting silly quotes with a 3k excess from everyone pretty much but elephant were awesome, I'm on the 10 month accelerator too

Tbh I was starting to lose hope, cos im on the accelerator policy and that it's only been 10 months, technically I don't yet have the ncb but have been assuered that should I switch providers I'll get the full certificate..... Adrian flux wouldn't accept this and basically said that I don't have valid ncb and my 10 months counted for nothing

Either way, no requirement to switch, cheapest by half, and as long as the quote is cheaper again next year I won't even ring around

Spent 40mins with 2 major brokers and got nowhere any money saved is outweighed by the time spent wasted ringing around

I know what your saying but can't seem to get closer to some of you guys quotes

Problem is several things

My millage is quite high... 12k average
Postcode is good as im in an affluent area, no chavs but highish burglary and car thefts....
Road parking doesnt help either

Other than that I'm not sure what else I can better

That is crazy, im in a nice area too. I did whack my housemate on there thats been driving for 15 years and has no claims or points in the last 5 years.

My mileage is 12k too, only thing is that your car is wort more money but still. You are paying twice as much as me. Just dont get that, feel a whole lot better about £600 now.

In guessing that your car is maybe half the value? Minter's being around 5.5k say..... mines insured for 12k this year, 14.5 last.... Although it's irrelevant in the end cos they will only pay out book price.... but I've got gap insurance also
luckily though I don't have to renew that for another 2 years

Might have to add the Doris on see if that brings it down...

2008 5door DSG bog standard. Drivers aged 62, 59 and 33.maximum non protected NCB, driven c6000 miles pa but not restricted. Fully comp , low excesses, rural locality, garaged under car port. RSA £505. Aviva £440. LV= £205 yes £205 if I fit a tracker , same if I don't but no theft cover. Bit of a dilemma. Any views ?

You obviously need to cost the tracker amd subscription and decide whether it's worth it.

For me when I had my R32, More Than were always the cheapest by some margin.

Im 22 no ncb no points mines £1000 a year with admiral
Yeah ive switched to admiral now after getting my RNS nicked, elephant were both insensitive and downright rude (I know it depends who you speak to) either way switched to their sister company and chopped £300 of the policy price, and that included declaring 3 points from Feb.

To add though, one of elephants guys called back after the theft and asked why I left, I pretty much gave him both barrels, but by the end he actually won me round and I will consider them again in future.... it really does depend who you speak to
