right , a strange one , ive just gave my R a good clean and polish when my neigbour shouted "im suprised it started this morning" , i asked him why to which he replied " you left your lights on ", after further chatting he told me that the car for the past week as been intermittently having the lights coming on and goind off in the middle of the night ?? i thought he was taking something but i also left the car at my mother in laws a few week back and she said my alarm had been going off yet it wasnt deactivated it just went off after 10 min or so
, ive recently fitted a brand new battery, ive had the gearbox serviced and on the service they found 2 fault codes
-dsg selector signal loss - sorted this
-implausable signal from the cruise control stalk (cruise has been on and off for the past 4 week)

any ideas ?? im thinking its the stalk but why dosent it do it all the time ?

my r has auto lights with the coming home feature if this helps

thanks again folks

I appreciate you can't monitor the car continually, but first thing I would do is switch the light switch to off, which stops all the auto light stuff, if its still doing it after this then there are other problems with the cecm, I take it it is mk5?

Must be with DSG codes and auto lights. If not he has serious problems haha
