Well I've finally made the change from MK4 to MK5 and surprisingly I'm really happy about it, I do miss the MK4 but the MK5's extra toys (especially DSG) are making up for it.

This is after a good clean.

Today I decided to try and sort out the black exhaust tips.

Before

Halfway through one

After finishing one

After finishing the 2.

I am not completely happy with them and it took the best part of 2 hours and a lot of swearing to get them to this level, but they are much better than before.

Thanks guys
I did follow Pomme's guide but I didnt have any Tardis or anything like it so just used autosol, 3m scotch pad (carefully) on the insides of the exhausts, a drill with polishing attachment, and 4 microfibres. once polished with the autosol I smothered it in black hole glaze and polished that off.

I did my tips last year and they still come up good after a wash. Hopefully you won't need to touch them for a long time.

Thanks for the comments, all I seem to be doing at the moment is working, hence the lack of photo's, as soon as I get chance I will give it a thorough clean inside and out and get some better pics up using a decent camera. I need to give the inside a good clean and the engine bay is in need of some attention. When you buy a car from someone that isn't an enthusiast the exhaust and engine bay is usually a nightmare to clean
to be fair to them the paint is in decent condition not too many chips etc, it needs claying and machine polishing.

p.s. guess i need to change my sig now.

Well after work today I decided to get all OCD on the car, put alot of effort in and decided to take some photo's with a decent camera, this is the second time I have used the camera so they probably aren't the greatest photo's in the world.
