Manual Mk5 R32 gear problems

Recently before setting off from standstill , my first gear has been slipping out. It's happened 3 times in the last week. I am wondering if any one has experienced this problem before and if I can cure this problem before it damages any other part of the gear box / clutch !! Sorry but I am not mechanically minded !
