Search through all your car documents - it is often noted down somewhere obscure.

I had to get the radio code for my Mk4, and I took the serial number of the radio unit, the registration document and some ID to the dealers, and they gave me the code for free - don't know if it's the same for the mk 5 though?

Hey your dealer are speaking sh1te, and don't know what they are on about.

I sold my MFD2 on here only a couple of weeks or so ago.

I didn't have the code either, but I just phoned up my local VW dealer, gave them the VIN and MFD2 serial number, and they gave me the code over the phone. No cost, it was free.

They shouldn't need to plug anything in either, they have a system where they enter VIN and MFD2 serial numbers and it gives out the radio code.

Nah, rang three local dealers and they all said they need to car and cannot give it out over the phone anymore.

What a load of b*llocks. I've got an MFD2 here I want to sell which I can't sell for the right money without the effing code!

Any other ideas?

It was VW Specialist Cars in Aberdeen. 01224 45276 ask for service dept, explain what your after and they'll put you through to the workshop guy who'll get the code.

They didn't even ask my name or the car reg or anything when i phoned.
