Probably a coilpack.

Were the coilpacks changed under the 28F5 "recall" that was issued in Feb 2011?

Odd that it's 3 that are causing problems, all from the same bank.

I might be wrong here (as I have a mk5 and am far from a mechanic!) but that could well be a lambda sensor fault. As I understand it, there are four sensors, 2 in front of the Cat and 2 after it. Two are for the branch of the exhaust that goes to bank 1 (cylinders 1,3,5) and the other two are for bank 2 (cylinders 2,4,6). That might more sense that the coil packs if the fault is showing on all the odd number cylinders....

Not too sure mate, possible I suppose. Mine is stock, but it seems the Lambdas may be a bit of a weak point on the R32. Had one replaced on mine recently (bank 1, front). £300 ish at VW MD all in ;(. That did include the diagnostics but I imagine a specialist could do it cheaper as the part is only about 100 to 120 I think.
