Does anyone find the brakes to be a little spongey at all?

Reason I say this is I was driving a works company car which happened to be a 1.6 FSI MK5 Golf and I hit the brakes like I did in my R32 and nearly head butted the windscreen! The initial bite was pretty savage to be honest where I find my peddle to be initially spongey then the brakes very progressive, are all MK4's like this? If not I feel another trip to VW lol

I think there is quite a bit of travel in the pedal before they bite, I wouldn't call it spongy but it isn't as aggressive as some new cars I've driven

My mrs has a MK V and same thing applies, only have to tickle the brake pedal and you're nose up against the windscreen. Bit too keen if you ask me, don't think i'd want it like that on the 32, would cause more problems than it solved me thinks

If you find this then get the tyrol break stiffening kit, i would probably say the best mod i have done which is quite amazing.
