Hi Nick,

I had folding mirrors on a 307 years ago and it was great for not getting your mirror smashed off when the car was parked .

Can't find anything about Golf MK4 folding mirrors though.
Is this what you are after Nick ?

Not sure if the link will work.
If you contact Gareth at www.hazzydayz.com he can do the lot for you. He advertises under vwcruise on the ukmkivs site.

He fitted cruise to my Golf and I'm getting him to do the mirrors and rear parking sensors as the next jobs.

He's ex Audi technician and is working on his own stuff like a multifunction 3 spoke steering wheel for the mk4.

Top bloke.

thanks for the replies folks. Not sure if the ebay ones look like genuine ones or it could be my eyes. I hopeless at things like that so would prefer to get someone to do them for me oe style. If its more or less plug and play then I'll get it done, but if its going to be a lot of fiddling about, I may just keep the thought.

thanks again everyone for your replies
