Did any mk5 come with these as standard from vw? My gti had them fitted as standard. If so does anyone know the part no? I've saw a few aftermarket sets on eBay aswell.

No MK5s were fitted with them as standard but I'm pretty sure they were available as an accessory from the VW accessory brochure at the time.

Ah I see. I just assumed they were standard as I've seen quite a few with them fitted. So you must be able to get them from vw?

Yes, you can still get them but they say "Golf" as opposed to ".:R" or ",:R32"

My dads gti has factory gti ones fitted and my mates edition 30 has factory edition 30 ones fitted. Was there no r32 ones from the factory at all?

I can't remember ever seeing official .:R branded ones from VW but that doesn't exist. As you say they should really have been fitted as standard like the MK4 and the GTI models.

Best thing to do is to speak to Robin at Ingrams and find out if they did and what the part number or availability is.

Nah they came with none but I'm sure you can buy them from vw. If not then Lockwood sill plates are very good

I will speak to him and compare part no's with the ones that say "golf" part no. I will also need to check my official brochure to see if it shows anything.

Spoke to robin from Ingram. Gti and edition 30 sill protectors were standard equipment but no listings for the R32. Aftermarket is the only way. I find that a bit miserable of VW to do that.

I know what you mean regarding them being fitted as standard but it's not like VW to miss a chance to make some money from an accessory.
