As the article states the 229bhp 5 door DSG model comes within £100 of the 135i; suffice the say the base price of the mk7 R is likely to be on a par with the Beemer:

imo you can't beat the feel and look of the coach work inside the mkiv I don't think vw have made enough effort to dress they're .:R interiors since to distinguish the upgrade from gti, other than the mkv recaros which are v nice!
