MkV upper grille question

A little birdie has told me that the grille from a Golf GT will fit the .:R The part I'm referring to is the bit with the VW badge in the middle.



I am fairly keen to get black VW badges on my car, but it would look silly with the current silver badge holder tube thing.

Can anybody confirm if the GT grille is a direct fit into our Alu goatee front grille?
