Hi Guys,

Thought id show you my new ride after selling my R (I am missing it slightly).

I wanted something completely different as a car, iv had my fair share of hot hatches over the years and i always wanted a mk4 R32 so happy to say i fulfilled that dream

OK, so my new ride as you can see below is a 2000 Mercedes CLK230 Avantgarde cabriolet, Full Merc History and only 71K on the clock!! Thats right 71K and only paid £2700 for it!!

So far i have had to put a new window regulator on offside drivers window but apart from that its a mint car and only has a few minor marks which im not really that fussed about and considering its 13 years old it feels like its no more than 5!

Bob, thats funny you should say that we have one in our beauty salon

The build quality on the car is phenomenal, VW's are solid but this things a Panzer Tank. quiet good on juice as well which surprised me as i thought it would be thirstier than the Golf!

I assume as in buying the car mate? well..... i have had my eyes on one for a few years to be honest. ones i looked at a while back where high mileage and over priced. This was literally around the corner and some fella had it in his garage for 4 years! only drove it in the summer and paid £8K for it when he got it! done about 8K since he had it and he had no time for it anymore and by pure coincidence i had just sold my R so couldn't of timed it better!

I just felt like the R took up to much of my time and felt like it was taking over in some ways so i had to change. sad i know but i don't feel stressed about a car anymore lol

Thanks for your comment, iv had a lot of Hot Hatches over the years so just felt i needed a change and as i say above have had my eye on these for a while so i decided to take a chance. so far I'm really impressed with the car and the fact it doesn't look too dated. I was looking underneath before and rust is very minimal on the suspension components!

It certainly is a completely different car from an R32 but i knew that already, maybe im getting old before my time ha ha!

Something of a bargain by the look of it, and great for the summer. I had a CLK500 for a while a few years ago, its a nice place to be for cruising.

I am sure you will enjoy it.

Ill hold on to this for a while now and if i do fancy a change at a later date ill let the misses have it as she loves it!

Lovely car get to one of our meets in it,

When I was 25 I ditched hot hatches as I wanted something more sophisticated and got a BMW E46, but it was not long before I had to come back to the hot hatches lol

I had 2 e36's and a e46, not a patch on hatches, saloons are cool though

Mark will get to one soon, couldnt do KK on friday sorry had loads on!

Like i say its a change for me and i do like the lines and looks of the Merc. The build and feel quality is amazing and has all the toys apart from sat nav!

Its also handy that my mate Steve is an independent Merc specialist so shouldnt be bad if things go wrong!
