I just fitted a non-res Scorpion cat-back exhaust to my MK5 R32, but it's simply a little too loud for me, especially the drone you get when cruising on the highway is pretty bad.

So I called in to the shop where I bought the exhaust, and they gave me 2 options.
1. fit a "no-drone" silencer
2. fit a center-section resonater
Both options cost about the same.

Anyone got experience with this, what would be the best option for me?
I don't want the sound to go back to the stock exhaust, But I don't want the drone anymore either (it gets bad enough that every plastic bit in the car starts shaking as well)

The main purpose of the small resonator box to to reduce drone therefore that would be my choice. Scorpion probably do an off the shelf centre section with a resonator, which they supply with their resonated systems. Just replace the straight through centre section with one of those.

Sounds good, I only worry that It would make the car very quiet again (like stock). Got any experience with that?

I have experience of this with scorpion and I went non res to start as well. I got an exhaust shop to fit a silencer into the non Res section of pipe and it was a fair bit quieter but not enough. I ended up buying a Res section straight from scorpion which is much quieter but can still drone a bit when hot at 50-60mph. I would look at getting a vibrant bottle resonator fitted if I were you. Just to add, the Res section fitted on mine is still a fair bit louder than stock.

Did the silencer you fitted first also stop most of the drone, or not that much?
So far, Im thinking of ging with the resonator since that Will atleast fix the problem, a little drone isnt a problem, Just not this much.
Good to hear the Res isnt as quiet as stock though.
