Quite pleased with it. I stripped it over a year ago but with work being so manic I haven't had a chance to get on with it. Its a 99% rot free shell with a straight and solid bed so I figured I'd start from the ground up. Going for a ivory white paint job from the original Gambia red, lowered suspension and five speed gearbox with the original matching numbers 1600 petrol with less than
,000 on the clock, keeping in nearly standard to keep its value in years to come. Can't wait till its finished so I can put it in the garage and drive the R! Keep it for the occasional weekend. I'll post up some more pics as it comes together.

Progress continues... Base coat done. Now it's off to the body shop for top coat and clear coat to be baked on. Figured if I've gone to this much effort I want it to last well. I would post this on the caddy forum but I haven't used that for ages. There's a quite a snotty attitude on there so I don't really want to be involved.

Me too. It's not going to be toyed with much at all. My vision for it is for it to look like its just rolled out the factory but with lower suspension and a gearbox that can cruise at
without knackering the distributor bearings. It may take some some time, so be patient with me.

Cheers guys. Are they Ronal turbo reps? Na think I'm going to stick with the G60 steels, considering getting them banded though. Also would like opinions on whether the DBP on the wheels and tailgate lettering would suit the ivory white bodywork. It would be cool to match up with the R? Just a thought.
