Some little fat kid stole 2 of my R line dust caps for his bike... I bought some more and used the anti theft things (couldnt be bothered before) and today the same kids are eyeing them up again... they didnt cost alot and they cant steal them now but would love to watch them try and then set the alarm off to make them shit their fat pants!
The cost of them isn't here or there its the principal right?, (little fat kid, good description
)
the anti theft ones are much better but just be careful, as sometimes if you don't take them on and off for a while the thread can cease up and they can be a nightmare to get off.
As mentioned above, with aluminium dust caps, they can seize due to dissimilar metals especially over the winter. A little copper grease on the thread helps.
be careful with them R line dust caps if there ally. had some on my old 1.8T and they oxidized and welded them self to the valve. had to cut them off in the end.
I had my old ones for a year or so and seemed a bit rusty taking on and off but not too drastic... im ocd on checking tyre pressure so will be regularly checking on them anyway lol
