Not sure whats caused this, hoping its not too serious or technical.

While the cars running the passenger door open warning light flashes, even when slammed shut multiple times.

Checked locks and cant see anything wrong, could it be the wiring? any help would be great thanks

My boot did this a few months ago. Water from the rear wiper jet was leaking from the motor. It went into the electronics.

It didn't go until I fixed the motor and dried out the electrical connections to the lock after a spray with electrical contact spray.

Better get it fixed as that's an MOT failure now under the new rules...

A common fault on the Mk4. I had it on my previous golf. screen fluid leaking.

do you know where the door contact sensor is located? I thought they were built-in the lock mechanism on golfs?

I knw that door stripped down, and the last a door contact,
So am thinking it, in the A piller but i could be wrong
