Cost me £62 to fill up about 10 mins ago. And come Sunday I will need to do it again lol.
your all ripping yourselfs off using v power its not the octane rating its listed to be..
i use tesco 95ron and use a fuchs fuel addative (pure octane) and for 120mils off addative i boost the ron ratting to 104ppm (ron in english) none of this fairy bull crap on halfords shelfs that claims to aid.... this stuff works guaranteed!!!! so instead of filling with ripoff fuel it costs me £55 from bone dry to the filler neck.... doesnt sound like a big saving but £5 over 10 tanks with added power is big in my book!!!!
ohh and you cant buy it in the shops..

and your remap get the best out of it does it?? I very much doubt it.
it can be ordered from a rally motorsport outlet in morecambe cumbria (i rally a bowler tomcat (see sign pic) and use it in that) i can order 1 littre tins for anybody who wants to try it its £10.75p a littre and used properly (correct measures) it can last 6 weeks (dependent on how often you blow your fuel)
ever done the lighter trick with the magnet????? its the same prinsipal ^spelling^??
your wasting your money on v power..:argh:

you obviously dont know how ron in fuel works!!
its got nothing to do with any map ect ect its controlled by your ecu which establishes how much to advance or retard your timing to suit the fuel used also you mass sensor sets the air ratio to whatever the air density of your car (ambient hieght)

well there is bound to be plenty of speculators out there and to be frank crack on.... im not out to cause an argument here
im mierly trying to give people a touch of my knowledge on how to save a few quid on fuel... it works for me and has been proved on 3 seperate dyno runs both in my r32 and my bowler!!!!

look at it like this fuel companies water their fuel down to make it go further (more proffit) do you remember a couple of years ago when the whole country was hit by water in the fuel by filling your tanks up at shell petrol stations and tesco???? this was the reason as they got too greedy and watered it down too much..
im not going to go on i just know for a fact this stuff works as i use tesco 95ron and the additive and it takes the ppm higher than the said ratting of vpower
if anybody would like me to explain how it all works then please ask..

Errm , i have no idea about ur additive so I wont comment, if it works then great. I remember when i was a lad my dad putting additive in his Rover 3.5 when he couldnt find 5*. It was quite a normal thing to do then and im assuming it was to boost the RON.

I can say tho that you are wrong about he cause of the water in fuel problems. I am not going to comment about it on here but it was due to a completely different reason to the one you state and it wasnt caused by the retailers of the fuel.

Paul
you've pretty much mentioned the problem with your own theory

the R32 is mapped on 98/99 RON fuel...with a knock map to accomodate the use of lower RON fuels and thus protect the engine

without a map for whatever RON you claim to be achieving you're wasting your time/money
my car was already mapped when i purchased it and was mapped using 99ron..
im not wanting to take part in an argument just meirly offering another form of saving a small amount of money on fuel.. a lot of my friends use this addative and swear by it as i do and also friends in the nwrc (northwest rally club)
there will always be speculation over add ons so to speak but i can vouch this product is money well spent and over the last 2 years i have been using it along with others i have saved a hell off a lot of money and it also changes the way the car performs:ciao:
Why do tuners recommend to use higher Ron then ?

Also my cars only ever (apart from one emergency) been run on V-power or Tesco 99 super and the one time i had to put normal 97 super in it ran like crap.
Can you please tell us the name of this amazing additive then???
