Hi what does this sensor actually do that's in the stock intake pipe if I was to remove it and just plug it in what would happen far as I can see its just for the breather system

Reason I'm asking as I'm removing the pipe to put a custom one there

That's an oil burner for the oil vapours coming from the valve cover.

Wouldn't mind removing it myself and running a catch can but not sure you can as it may be pressurised from the intake to draw out vapours?

I've thought about this aswel surprised knowone makes a replacement silicone hose to get rid of the nasty plastic one ????

In really cold climates, it's a heater that stops the water freezing onto the throttle blade. Breather fumes are mostly watery until the engine gets up to temp. It might even be a dummy connection. It is on UK VR6s. When starting the car from cold, pull the plug and see if there is a voltage across it. If there isn't, bin it. Or simply pull it, start the car and then check VCDS for any errors. No error, it's not important!

It's got 12v on it if its just a heater then I may just bin it off we will see

Can you not put it in from underneath out of view on your custom pipe? Bearing in mind it needs to flex

I'm just going to plug it in and tuck it away its going to be pretty hard to fit it in the pipe , I've seen a fair few cars with out it so I'm happy I won't need it
