Hi all, so I've got a possible maf issue, car will start but immediately cut out when the maf is plugged in. If I unplug the maf and start it, it stays running.

Sounds like a bad maf right, however once the car is started and running without the maf plugged in if I then plug it back in the car will continue to run fine. My question is once I plug it back in shouldn't the car then die if it was a bad sensor? Thanks.

I suspect when you start the car without the MAF plugged in the ECU reverts to a default setting and despite plugging the MAF back in it ignores it's values as it is flagged as faulty.

Yea that's a possibility, makes sense.

Interestingly, just got back from work now and thought I'd try it with the maf plugged in. It fired up as should and didn't cut out. 🤔 Kind of makes me think that the maf isn't bad now.
