That's interesting as I'm pretty sure that the engine loom that the lambda probes connect too has a black and a brown connector for both the pre and post cat sensors. The reason I'm asking for probes is that the ones I had already one of them doesn't have the right connector.

Ill confirm this tomorrow when I go to the unit to check the car out.

I have a pair taken from my replacment OEM CATs that I bought a few months back. Only trouble is that whilst they look almost brand new some tattie has snipped the wiring about a foot from the sensor is each case so guess they'd be no use to you?

As said above they use the same ones for both sides now
I had the same when I got the pre cat ones
Just put a brown ty-rap next to the plug so you know what is what
No one is going to see it after all

The pre cat ones I got where listed for both 4mo and r32
Think the rears are is the same listed for both will check for you

Problem being that the brown and black connectors don't seem to be compatible, as in they won't plug together.

you must be doing something wrong as the AUE and BFH use the same lambda probes

it should of been plug in and play

as you can see a black plug will plug into a black or brown so new black only lambda probes are not a problem
brown on the other hand will only plug into brown

all new lambda probes from vw have a black plugs without the lug
