Hi all, having spent a good day trying to work out the PR numbers from the sticker in the boot, ive managed to only find out that mine has 'luxury suspension', but finding out other information about it is impossible.

Can anyone explain where the relevant PR codes are on the sticker, i need to find the front coils, aswell as rear

Any help appreciated as im lost big time !!

The PR codes are the list of 3 digit codes listed on the sticker.

Not sure if they are in any particular order but thete are various sites on the net to decode them including this one;
http://vag-codes.info/

Sorry if I've misunderstood your question.

The "luxury suspension" might be a curved ball as there wasn't any options on the suspension.

Cheers Cuprabob, i've just gone through the full list of PR codes now, 1GC states "Front Shock Absorption, basic design 3"

But whats basic design 3 ?, is there a chart somewhere which states that basic design 3 is suitable for the weight of the car, as from Etka, 1GC is used on a number of vehicle specifications

Its also listed U25 going upwards i.e. U26, U27, what do these stand for, and is there a chart for these aswell ?

They don't mean anything to me but it will to someone with VAG.

Right, got the the bottom of it in the end, VW must calculate there axle ranges from the car, plus a driver, that total weight, divided over the two axles gives you your range of the front springs.

compared the dots to the spring rates on a chart ive found over on another forum, and the dots seem to be about right in the model range and vehicles weight

Thanks

Sam.
