When I bought my car back in september I failed to notice that the bottom corner of my door had some rust and also the front wing.

After fitting a new rad this weekend, it appears my car has been in an undeclared accident as certain small parts in the engine bay are broken and refitted. The drivers door and wing are not aligned properly! Also the bumper was fixed on with black phillips screws.

I am extremely particular about my car and cleaning it, so looking at this rust everytime I wash and wax it has been hard.

But I made the decision this week to book it in to the bodyshop to be repaired and once done they will be giving the car a machine polish!

I'm extremely excited about having pristine paint work again. I will post the result up when its been done....see what you guys think!

Good luck dan hope it comes out like new, I would get the front wings checked by Vw as the mkv has a problem with the front wings rusting, I have a 55 plate R and Vw are replacing both front wings under warranty, all they do is check the paint depth!

Mine have also both been replaced and sprayed by VW for the same problem. Its known all over, so dont let them fob you off. Unless obviously its had paint before on the wings, then they wont touch them.

yikes, i hate undeclared accidents, you never know what is holding these cars together until you get underneath, all the best with it anyway

I'd forgotten about this thread....bodyshop I had booked in to pulled out of doing the work. Says he isn't confident doing the work. I appreciate his honesty but extremely annoyed that he quoted me and let me drop the car off before telling me.

She's now booked in with a reputable Bodyshop...but not until I got to vegas on 1st July.
