hi guys im in the market for an mk5 r32 i have a couple of questions though, i have searched but couldnt find the answers,

1. my local dealer has an 05 r32 in dark blue but he said it isnt the 250bhp one its 230bhp and that only the 07/57 plate r32's have 250 bhp, now is this true or is he confused?

2. are there any differnces between say an 05 r32 and a 07/57 r32?

thanks for the help guys and girls

I think your dealer is speaking rubbish. I don't think there will be much different if anything apart from the age
your dealer is taking out of his a$$ :D

the edition 30 has the 230bhp, the r32 has the 250bhp
well your dealer might not be talking rubbish! Ray West from West tuning keeps a log and has written an artical about the performance figures. and the are always under powered. most come out at 220 on the RR he even showed me one that had 202 on the RR and that was a MK5 R32

Putting the above to one side, yes the dealer is talking B***ocks. no difference between 05 and 07.
thanks for the fast replies guys hopefully ill be a regular here soon,
thanks again
u sure thats not dodgy rr readings due to the funny 4wd??
most cars are sold with optimistic figures, the mk4 r32 was actually initially sold with upto 241bhp yet literature stated 250bhp. the dealers go by the guided figures so for the r32 mk5 it will be 250bhp guided figure. although in reality will be less. for the dealer to state that the older models are less powerful is actually incorrect and misleading as the marketplace power is 250bhp

VC I thought the MKIV was sold with 239BHP or 250PS

Anyway mine made over 250 on the rollers with just the 6463 update
The early models (03) did have lower power, due to the smaller MAF and a couple of other minute tuning differences between that motor and the Audi spec 3.2 VR6 found in the TT3.2. The R32 of that year had 239hp or 241hp, depending on whether it was UK trim or DE trim.

Later models (04+) had an honest 250hp because they then shared the same MAF and intake as the Audi TT 3.2, which bumped it up to 250hp. Basically the same motor that is in the car now.
