I have the standard VW Head unit in my 07 Mk5 R32. I've checked the back and it has the two side by side rectangular sockets.

What's the simplest way for me to plug in an iPod so it has playback and also charges? I'm looking at the Dension Ice Link and Gateway. I assume I won't get any track info on the head unit?

Loads of you must have been here before. What's the smartest solution without changing the head unit?

Many thanks...

I fitted the VW kit to the back of the RCD300 and it charges, skips tracks and has up to five playlists plus one which is all tracks by default - still no track info tho', just cycles thru' tracks 1 - 99 and then repeats the numbers.

Thanks. So it seems the x-carlink does exactly the same as the Dension?
