Not that bad really. Unbolt the drive shafts and prop plus a few other bits but it is heavy as the rear diff would have to be removed at the same time.

People seem to try anything these days but really you need a ramp or pit as you need to get right under the car then drop the diff and cradle etc about a good 3ft down and under the car which is a good 100lb in weight then get it all back up again some how.

If you want to paint the cradle get a new or used one and paint it first otherwise your car will be off road for some time.
My thoughts were that exactly that funny enough. There few on ebay for like no cash. I have friends who has a workshop with a ramp so using wouldnt be a prob. Can just swap them over

Cradles are not worth much really and posting them is expensive as big and heavy. I usually bin them to be honest. It might be worth looking at a price of a new one as most of the used ones i have had would need shot blasting and messing about with before painting etc.

NEW ones are silly expensive as i have looked down that road a month or so ago

as above a left is better but CAN be done on stands and use a jack to support the diff and frame then lower it down and pull it out from the rear

done MANY a job on a road side or pavement to ANYTHING is possible ha ha

If you bin them does that mean they're free to whoever collects?

You can have one for free if you drive up to mine while you buy a de-cat pipe
