Rubberband tyres

Im currently running 235/35's on my 19's but I want less profile on them, I want rubber bands. Whats the most stretching I can get away with? 225/35's. I corner fairly hard, are stretched tyres dangerous?

I have tried 225/35 on my 19s but i found the ride deteriorated and i drove slower (not always a bad thing), simply because any bump really shook through me compared to the 235/35s, but this could also be contributed to the fact my coils are set to hard as possible. But i didnt notice any difference in handling :)
Stretched tyres are dangerous end of. If you like to drive quick then my advice is dont bother.

However if there show wheels and your not driving fast then tbh i love stretched tyres as the look is ace IMHO.

Not sure what an insurance company would make of the wrong sized tyres on the car tho !!! My guess is it may void any claim.
Ahhhhh but thats the thing mate, there isnt a written rule on what tyre should go on what etc its very veyr varied.
The wheel manufacture surely has guides on tyres size suitable for each wheel they produce tho.

Not saying this is what always happens but something to bear in mind.

Personally i think on the right dished rim stretched is what finishes it off.
Yeah but if you look at this page:

http://www.toyo.co.uk/page.php?identity=r888

Looking at the first three on 18s:

1. 225/40 will fit 7.5 - 9 width.
2. 235/40 will fit 8.0 - 9.5 width.
3. 245/40 will fit 8.0 - 9.5 width.

So if you have a wheel with a width of 8 to 9, then you could run all three sizes :)

hmmmm, yeh, I forgot about ride quality, mines on its hardest and it already slams over bumps. Theyr not going to tear off of blow out are they?
Dont spose youv got any pics of yours?
nah not at the mo, sorry mate, as my computer is still being fixed by delllllllllllllllllllllllll ahhhh its hellllllllllllllllllllll with dellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. lol sorry.

well i find mine really hard at the mo just with 235s, but with 225s found that becuase of less of a sidewall it really really hit hard and i was so so so much more worried about the alloys when driving along country roads that i wasnt driving like i really wanted to.

So i def wont ever go back to 235s, but then if its just for a show as said then i reckon they look the muts nuts :)

Can it damage them??
well when i bent the lip on the lm it was with the 225s and i never had any problems with the 235s, but then i didnt hit a rock like i did with the 225s, stupid lorry driving down the middle of coutry lane.

i'm running 215x35 on a 9... not a massive stretch.

its a similar stretch for a 195x40 on a 7.5

a 30 profile is as far as i would go as your rim can start touching down if its stretched.

I do have a friend that is running 195x40 on a 9... that's just mad
