Hello all, my r32 has been sat for a while and with this and a combination of small journeys I think the battery may be toast.

Before I get a new one is there checks I can do to make sure it is a faulty battery?

As my car has been sat a while the battery has drained a few times requiring jump starts, the battery is low at the moment but still starts... I have had a multi meter on the battery and when engine/dash is off it's reading 11.8v and when I start the engine it jumps down to around 8 (which I've read is bad but is this due to a low battery?) and then settles around 14.3 with the engine running.

There are also lights on the dash for instance the right indicator light goes solid green even when the indicator isn't on when I haven't got my seat belt on or when I'm parked, all lights go off whilst driving and returns to normal.

I just took it out for a 30 minute run to put some petrol in and measured the voltage again when I got home and battery is again reading 11.8 which I would of thought the alternator would of charged it past 12..... is this a sign that the battery just simply can't charge past 12v anymore and is dead?

I agree, new battery time. Have a look at Tayna. Good prices and service.
