My R is due for its service soon (03 with 29000 on the clock), I live in West Sussex and would really like to avoid the stealers (after last years experience). Anyone point me in the direction of a alternative?:blushed:

Mine got serviced last year at Awesome-gti, Miles from you i know but my point is .......

If i was to buy an R32 and i saw the dealer stamps or a well known company i'd be happy, (Rather see the specialist than dealer)

I'd rather not see a back street garage stamp as it just says you dont care.

Even tho the garage might be very good it just sends a better image of how you looked after that car.

Hope that makes sense and doenst make me sound like a fruitloop !!

The service cost over £600, which included changing the spark plugs (about 22k miles), tried to charge £110 for a side light bulb change, until they realised it was £46 last time, issued a MOT failure notice for the bulb even though I ask them to change it on the service. I left feeling ripped off! They also advised that the cam belt was due for a change, before I told them it was a chain!

That's disturbing.

How much are they ripping off the ordinary driver who has not great interest or knowledge in cars but merely uses it as a means to get from a - b.

defo go to a specialist, I had a weird clunk in my car, so took a young scamp from the stealers out in the car, he admitted to me that he hates cars, hates dubs, hates life etc. this may be due to teenage angst, but i dont think the stealers care that much tbh they just want to meet targets. find yourself a good specialist by word of mouth and stick with them. they get to know you and the car, and when you throw buisness their way from your mates, they're very grateful, if you see what i mean.
