My R32 is coming up for its major service and I need your advice on it. It's needing its major service, DSG oil and filter change and Haldex oil and filter change.

I've phoned up Audi VW repair centre in Clydebank and they quoted £407 but that didnt include the Haldex. Phoned up Audi Tek and they matched the £407 quote. Went to Audi Tek to book it in today and said oh your price doesnt include the Haldex, even though i said to them major service, DSG and Haldex on the phone like 5 times! Then they came out with a £550 quote for it and when i asked for some room on the price he said, there's the door. I mean, they are an independent specialist who say they are cheaper than a main dealer yet they charge more? So would say give Audi Tek in Bishopbriggs a miss as they are just out right Rude and not willing to entertain! Still waiting on a phone back from Audi VW repair but i imagine they will be roughly the same.

So where have you guys went for a major service in Glasgow? and how much did it cost?

Cheers

I would recommend Ingram in Ayr for servicing. Major service due next mth not got a price yet although I've already had Haldex done in Jan for £65.

I've also used Audivwrepaircentre in Bothwell to replace couple of door modules

I had a majour service at Ingram Ayr and couldn't fault them. Although sad to hear that about Audi tek. Prior to me coming offshore they fitted my Coilovers to how I wanted the car to sit. Seemed friendly enough and was happy with there work.

I'll give Ingram a phone tomorrow and see how much they will be for all that. I would love to pay £65 for a Haldex service but the 2 independent garages are charging around £150 for it! I know the independent garages need to make money but it only costs around £45-£50 for the parts and takes 20 mins to do!

How much was your major service with them?

Yeah i heard good things about them too and have had work done off them in the past. It's just the service of the guy today was appalling! I phoned in advance to ask them about a price and i told them a few times that i wanted a major service, DSG and Haldex service and they said they would do it for round the £400 mark.

Another vote for Ingram. They even changed the engine in my MK5 without any issues.

IIRC it was around. £250 for the service including plugs.

DSG oil and filter was about £170

Haldex oil and filter was about £

VW Rutherglen (opposite the tesco) do a gd service,
Not sure on price tho,
Yeah audi tek in b/briggs is dear, and one of the mechanic got his trade in a really bad garage so it kinda steered me from going there or offering them to a friend,
Avoid Anniesland Crow Road VW shocking treatment you get in there.

I've also had shocking service from AC in Crow,Road, so I concur with VRT. No experience with the one in Dalmarnock Rd, Rutherglen but that's now owned by AC too, which I'm not a fan of at all.

I have only heard good things about Advantage in Stirling but never tried them as Ingram keep me happy.

Personal the dalmarnock rd, was recommend to me, by a close friend. And was worth it.
But then Reg Vardy bought it over but kept it as a vw shop, i dnt kno personally if the good guys are still there or have jumped ship as the old saying going.
I all so concur the vw stirling has got a really good rep.
