Hello people :)

Need your opinion on this car:

The garage selling it will not budge on the price. He has also offered me £6k as a trade for my clio.

Its will have new tyres. Its was serviced at 30k.

Is it worth the money?

Certainly looks like a very tidy example, but would need to be seen in the flesh to confirm.

I'd say it's a little over priced, but there aren't many in that condition (low mileage, unmoddified, etc).

If you are happy with their offer for your Clio, then take the R for a test drive. If all seems well try and flash the cash to see if there is any chance of them lowering the price, got to be worth a try.

Remember to clean your Clio up as much as possible, and use that as another bargining tool!
Its hard to tell if the car is in good condition when its silver!

I thought it was a little over priced as well but it does come serviced and with new tyres, so that might work out cheaper in the long run than a car that is at a lower price.

I would need to go and see the car, problem its a 300 mile trip in total!

Clio is always clean so that shouldn't be a problem as long as it doesn't rain on the way there! :-0
Darren, whereabouts in Oxfordshire are you?

As for the Silver R - does the plate come with it? Everything else sounds good though. Would be worth going to see it and going over it with a fine tooth comb and then picking out every little thing that is wrong - although they might well repay the favour on your Clio?!

If you do go and see it, run an HPI check on it (or RAC for a £5) while you're there if you can, or call someone back home to run the check while you're looking at the car. That way if you are interested you have all the necessary info to hand to help with bartaring!

Good luck!

I live in Carterton, near Brize Norton, about 20-25 minutes from Oxford!

Thanks for the advice, I'll be definitely HPI checking the car before hand.
I used to live In Carterton - the new estate; Shilton Park. Another Silver R32 in the area! Ah well the more the merrier and I need to start spending some money on mine - just need to get this damn house purchase sorted!

I used to see a silver 3dr R32 all the time on my way to work in the morning. Probably the main reason why I want one! :D
That might've been me then - sorry about that! Only moved to Oxford in October after selling my place, now in the process of buying a place in Witney.

Soon as that is sorted I can garage my R and sort out everything I want to - squeaky seats, respray front bumber and bonnet, refurb wheels, new exhaust etc etc!
Seems reasonable but the garage offer for yours is low IMO, I was offered 5.2k for my immac 03plate clio cup with 50k back in April last year and yours is younger, lower mileage from what i remember. Have you looked at the value of your car on glass's guide to check his offer?
Parkers says with lower mileage it should be part ex at 7995 so adjust maybe 750 max for mileage and I reckon nearer to 7k than 6k. Reckon he has a cheek! Check this link if you like?

i too think with its miles that the car is a bit heavy on the price mate, and i agree with S19 that you should be getting more for your clio :)

I'll keep an eye out for you if I see you!

I'm looking For £6500 - £7000 for my car part-ex and private sale. This is taking into consideration the higher than most mileage.

I think I might give this one a miss, I've never spoken to a garage that doesn't budge at all on the asking price.

Never mind I shall just be patient and continue looking :)
