My Mrs new 13 plate mk7 Golf next to my R, I am finding mine stuck in the garage lately as the fuel return 55mpg is quite simply awesome! It drives lovely with the active cruise control but quite frankly doesn't have any character of the R32 ????

Yes your right, I do like it but was expecting a little more. Compared to mine the only thing I really want is the stereo tbh.

to be honest they are really nice inside, my cousin just got a silver one and i sneakily put it into sport mode every chance i get

but yeah it doesnt have the character of the R, but its not an R! no comparison, i cant wait until VW realise what mistake they have made and bring back the 3.2 v6, not the 2.0, its just not the same, and the 1.4 122 is actually pretty quick for a 1.4, i had a mk6 with the same engine
