I got my MK4 one off ebay for £37 i couldnt see how if you bought a side-side or up-down short shifter it would be any different if you bought a cheapy or a dear one. Needless to say i cant feel any compromise in buying a cheapo

Why would anyone need to buy a new OEM short shifter for the R32? The R32 already has a shorter shifter than other Golfs probably identical to some higher performance TT's
Maybe MK5s have a longer throw than MK4s but I agree. Coming from a Corrado, the MK4's shift is incredibly short. I can only imagine the notchiness getting worse with a SS, especially 2nd to 3rd, which even a well adjusted stock shifter messes up sometimes.
