Has the mk4 got a computer tyre pressure reader?
Tyre pressure?
one day of driving and already a puncture. oh well, thats just bad luck!
my tyre pressure light came on this evening so i called into the nearest garage to check the pressure and sure enough it was down to 10psi. however when i checked the other 3 tyres the pressure was at 38 on all 3.
is this what they should be?

i was lead to belive the correct pressures are 36 at the front and 33 at the back??
No john it hasnt. Its mkv only.

2 people - front 2,8 back 2,8
fully laiden- front 3,0 back 3,2
how does this equate to psi?
well 2.8 works out as 40 psi
3.0 = 43,
and 3.2 = 46.

yeah thats great thanks. 40 it is then! I'm surprised, my GTi was 32. well thats what i've ran it on for the past year anyhow. :burnout:macdaddy said:well 2.8 works out as 40 psi

i changed the wheel. i've got a stupid "get me to work in the morning then i'll sneak out to my local kwik-fit" wheel on now so thats the end of my cruising for today... there's a screw in the tyre so it should fix ok, at least i wont need a new tyre.
the wheels were spotless when i got it, but they are filthy now, all 4. they dirty a lot quicker and its a lot more noticeable i think than the GTi Monzas
