Evening,

I was driving down the M1 tonight and noticed a white umarked transit van elevated up on a hard shoulder ramp.

By the time id spotted it was a bit late....i drove another mile and saw a marked police car with someone pulled over and lights flashing. I presume they were working together,

Would it have just been an ANPR checking insurance etc or would it have likely to have been doing speed checks too.....or complete coincidence that this white van was on the hard shoulder (it had reversed up an elevated ramp though)

I gather its 2 weeks should something come through.

Cheers

Around here all the camera vans are well marked up as such as well as having a dedicated sliding window that the camera points out of.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Out of curiosity when they work together is it possible to get a ticket if you don't get stopped. On police programmes they normally radio a car up the road and say what car and what lane. I notice they clock 5 or 6 cars doing 8 0 or 90mph and wait for a 90 - 100+ mph car before they radio the police car down the road. Does this mean the 8-0 to 90mph cars that have been caught with the laser gun don't get tickets in the post?

Cheers

think they were too busy,,unmarked van and patrol car,,already had the target in sights and most likely been following [along with another unmarked car, for sure] target car for a long time and pulled the car over when safe to do so,,would be very suprised if you recieve anything untoward through the post in a couple of weeks, imho,,jason p

Isnt that illegal to be parked on the hard shoulder unnecessarily?
