Ok who's uprated there standard speakers and to what ? I find the system good (Have the satnav headunit) but feel like adding some bits to tweak it.

having spoken to a few people at audio places, the general jist of things is that the standard speakers respond very well to an alternative headunit!
I too have found the OEM speakers are fine for my requirements although I have added a carpeted sub box with twin 10'' subs inside to boost the bass a little.

Unfortunately I dont have any pics of this setup yet (one of the few things R related which I dont have pictures of)
ooooooooo I cant wait to get my sounds sorted...had a full system in the bug and cant get used ti standard in the golf...althought it really aint that bad for bog standard....:151:
are you not going to take some stuff out of the bug before you sell it ? I'm sure you know that it'll be a straight swap.

I did think about it, but the stuff I have in bug I dont want for R and the boot was chipped and copped (i know there nothing to chip and chop, but if u saw it you would understand) so much it would be a mission to get evrything out without getting the boot back to a nice standard self.

*plus im lazy* ;)
i was told off a friend of mine that works at Base Systems (who we might see on here soon ;) ) that the standard speakers respond really well to a decent headunit!
Yeah I replaced the gamm(y)a with a JVC chameleon that I had kicking about, and the standard speakers do sound a hell of a lot better, then I added an amp and twin 8" subs in the boot and it sounds pretty good. It's by no means excellent but pretty decent
