VF supercharger DIY install info

3970 Views 9 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Deckedr32
Hey guys newbie here.

I've recently bought an r32 with a vf supercharger fitted for track use.:)

The car needs a quite a few minor repairs and mods to complete the car to my satisfaction.:(

If anyone has a electronic version of the install of the SC i would be gratefull of a copy.
Or
If anyone can help on the follow things that i have come across so far.

1. Ideas on a replacement washer bottle.
2. The SC intake seems bodged to me, Pointing downward behind bumper and air mass meter at the begining of the tube. (The car runs rough with this plugged in?????)
3. I'm assuming its only stage one as there is no Intercooler fitted.

I have spent the full weekend reading this wonderful site which has helped a lot but having bought the car with no info at all on the car all help would be great

Paul.

I would guess your MAF (air mass meter) needs replaced if it runs better without it connected
I can email you the install guide (what's your email?).
The intake will always get oily as the MAF is now down below the oil catch pipe. Ideally you'll need to install a catch can between this point. VF know about the issue but only sell the catch can seperatly... (bonkers if you ask me).
cheers guys for your help.

After looking further into the wiring of the MAF i've found a black box fitted to the passenger side wing with what looks like a 12+ and 12- supply with the black core of the MAF wiring cut into and routed through this box before going to the MAF???????

Deckedr32 you have PM..
Hi Paul,
I have a Euro/Aussie R32 with a VF StageII install - shout if you need some install pics if that helps.

DeckedR32, I have the same oil on the MAF problem, can you provide some more info or pics on exactly where the catch can should be installed?

Many Thanks
Steve
I don't know anyone without the issue, In the US they have all seemed to have installed one. It basically breaks the oil return feed and catches any excess oil before it runs down into the MAF. This isn't my car but here is a pic of one in place (and it's not a VF one either)

Thanks Decked, that pic is very helpful. I have my S/C out at the moment as I'm waiting for a replacement so might look at doing this at the same time.

PS I was reading some of your original posts re belt tightening and getting to that S/C pivot bolt which is a nightmare. I know it's a 19mm bolt but did you ever find any really good spanner/tool to get to it?

Cheers
Steve
Yeah, I found a large spanner with an odd head on. The spanner was a special fitment for some old car built in the UK. Not sure what one but I went through my G/F's dad's garage and found it. It worked Perfectly!
Deckedr32 you are a top guy for all your help, thanks for all the info you've emailed over.
I'll get a catch tank fabricated tomorrow then and look at the MAF wiring i suspect the switched 12+ is the problem.

Thanks guys for all you're help
