Dropped off my car today at VW Murray's in Plymouth for an MOT and service, The list- Two new tyres Spark plugs Oil change and filter Brake fluid change CV joint replaced The bill- £713 including VAT ..owwwwchhh Glad it's done now though, received great customer service from a VW dealership, although when they said they were washing the car whilst I was waiting to pick it up I nearly had a bigger heart attack than finding out the bill, no body cleans my car but me!!! I bet they had a foam brush ready to scratch the crap out of my paintwork! Needless to say I stopped them before they could fill their bucket.

I let them vacuum the inside,
I prefer taking it to a dealership, it always looks better on the advert when I'm ready to sell, not that I will be for a long while, as long as your happy with them I don't see the problem, i appreciate some people have bad experiences with dealerships but i suppose it's just down to luck and having one near you that your happy with

When it comes around to servicing mine I don't know wether to or not. Meaning it has got full vw fsh, it makes me think I got no choice. Thoughts?

Do you plan on keeping the R til death do you part? If not find a specialist local to you they will be better value than vw and means just as much as long as there is a stamp in the book

True. I would like to keep it for many years, but that I cannot guarantee, so I may go to vw specialists. I hate the thought of leaving the car and the staff taking it out for test drive.

your car will be more looked after by a specialist than it would going to a vw dealer. I wouldnt worry too much

I remember seeing a programme and it said if you service a BMW over 2 years yourself or at an indy garage it will be worth 2k less than one that had FBMWSH but the servicng would cost 2k over 3 years.
