Hi all, I've just joined the forum and have to say its impressive with what looks to be all I need once I get my R!
Struggling to find something suitable at the moment but if anyone could give me the heads up if putting there's up for sale or spotted one somewhere that would be great !

As the title states I'm after a DBP Mk4 3dr with low miles, I'm aware these are becoming harder to find with decent miles but hopefully one will come up for sale

I've got around 8k to spend

Thanks

Welcome

and low miles doesn't mean anything really, you just need one that has been taken car of beyond expectations, and you can get a pretty decent one for 8k, they have come well down in price

Thanks for the welcome !
Yes sorry forgot to also mention wanting full service history as well , and yes you're right I suppose I'd go for something slightly higher miles if it had a good service history and had been well kept ! The search is on !

i personally dont value history as much as others for example mine hasnt got a stamp for three years prior to me buying it or for the two years me owning it, its been service by myself and the previous owner who i know and the receipts for service items has just been put within a folder along with everything that has been bought for it. I look at receipts and inspect a car in great deal, often gives a better representation of the car than simply a few stamps

Yes I know what you mean, if I were to buy a car off someone I new had looked after it I'd be more likely to let the stamps slip but I can't help thinking if its a car and owner I've never met the only thing you can go off is the history that comes with the car

Mine will be going up for sale very shortly. It does have 119k miles but has a full service history (just had a service done). And is now in the bodyshop getting a full respray. Recently had a DRP gearbox (stronger gearbox) fitted along with a new clutch. Replaced the fans just after Xmas and thermostat. 4 new tyres since August all with good tread. Decat and BMC CDA induction kit with cold air intake. Folder filled with history/receipts. She's my pride and joy and only selling as I have a 60mile round trip for work, only condition on the sale is that you accept that I will cry when she drives away lol. Ill be after around the 8k mark considering the history and the respray.

This^^^

Is the truth

I never pay to service my cars, i do them myself, why pay someone else to do it for a stamp? But likewise i keep all receipts to prove it

And you can check legit service history by contacting the dealer/garage that did it

For 8k i'd want service history
I have to say I agree, thanks for all the replies guys really appreciated, I can't help feeling that a car with a full legit history is more desirable to me and to a potential buyer were I to sell the car on at some point (hopefully would never have to) however that doesn't mean il be buying a dog just because it has a history. A clean obviously well looked after car with a full service history is very high on my demand list for a car, maybe I'm just anal about a cars history. Hopefully my money will get me this eventually

8K is more than enough. I bought mine for much less with FSH and it was clean

Get trawling fella, its a buyers market and there a loads for sale! :)/>
I have been doing , it's just finding the one for me, the best one I've found so far is 8k for decent miles I must admit , however after seeing what money people are paying for these I'm not whether the price is abit steep? Or may even pay slightly more and go for a mk5 ..
