So I've got a MK4 R32 DBP and wanna lower it on some coilies (because I want the adjustment) but not sure what brand to get, don't really wanna spend more than £400/£500. It's a daily driver so I don't want something really harsh/bouncy. What do you lot suggest? Cheers, Chromey

AP Coilovers, I love mine far from bouncy but when you hit a hole you do feel it but not too harsh to break your back..

Ap but leave the rear adjuster out as they don't lower too much with it in but wit it out looks slammed and drives lovely

Eibach pro street s, little bit firmer than standard but definitely improve the handling.
If I hadn't got mine cheap then I would have got FK konigsport or silverline.

I have had afew on mine including KW V1 and V2, I now have Bilstein B14 and all I can say is that they a the best in every respect. Really comfortable, and much less harsher than KW V1.

Do you miss the adjustability of the V2's? I fancy damping adjustable shocks but cost to much with height adjustment too.

Not at all mate. The adjustability was good for adjusting under/over steer characteristics primarily.

The v2s were softer than V1s, but the B14s have truly surprised me. The preset rebound is perfect for tight cornering. The damping is just so fluid, almost Oem like in comfort but with great control. So cost wise the B14s win hands down. Plus there is a lifetime same car warranty on them.

Cheers for the comments guys, really helpful
the B14's are a little out of my price range, well I can't justify spending so much money on suspension at this stage haha, the AP's are looking like the ones to get. Anyone know if FK highsports are any good ? Also, anyone know how to set my notifications so that when you lot comment, it tells me, thought I had that set up but it didn't tell me I had all these comments, had to go on the post to find out :/

How do you subscribe lol? It says I'm following the topic if that's what you mean, and I've set it to instant notifications, but still nothing
What's ForumRunner? Also Cheempeej, is that your R in your profile photo? If so, how did you fit your tow eye strap, did you just cut a slot in the grill? Thanks

I unfollowed the topic, then followed it again and now for some reason it works and I have notifications haha. Ahh right ok, I don't fancy my bumper getting damaged if it has to be towed :/ I only want one for show anyway

Do the billy B14s get rid of the choppiness of the standard setup? Standard is plenty firm enough for me 90% of the time but on rough roads it can be very harsh for a standard setup. The mk5 rides noticably better over bumps but the turn-in is slower / softer as a result!

Good to hear the bilsteins are good though. I'm torn between those and FSDs.

Hi mate. Not sure what you mean by choppiness. Do you mean harshness / crashyness ? The KWs were what I would call hard. Maybe your setup was old or worn? I would only buy Bilsteins now, that's all I know.

No hassle. Stick pics up, black would look good on yours maybe? :)
Once I've fitted one I'll put up some pics, doubt you'd see a black one, orange and blue works, and I've got an orange graffiti sticker (my mate's own work - MisterMass) on the back of mine which looks good, and once I've bought my coilovers it'll finish it off nicely
I'll add a pic of the sticker...
