Hi guys just been looking round the wife's 53 reg r32 and noticed these two things. Could the stuff under the oil cap be condensation where she does just short journeys and is the damp patch on the side of the block closest to the gearbox normal? It's not losing any oil or water that I've noticed although her daily commute is only 7 miles each way.

It's done 139,000 miles now by the way with full service history.

The usual salad cream.

They all weap oil from the chain covers like that, even MK5s. If you ever do the chains, a good slug of automotive silicon around the gasket and covers solves it.
