Hey guys

I am thinking of buying alloys 18x8 (can't decide what yet), but I have this massive niggling thing about getting a offset of 35. The tyres I have got are 225/40 R18

There are various threads out there about this on many forums but aim still worried about getting a et 35.

Will a 18x8 et35 alloy be honestly okay for my car? It's standard suspension.

Again apologies for the various threads that I know are out there but I need to hear people's thoughts and experience before I buy.

Are they?? I though the general MK4 models were ET35, but the R was 37/38 dependant on manufacturer due to the Haldex??
If you could make money from finding r32 facts on the Internet you would be able to own one

Amazing how you find so much facts about them

WHEELS Rims: OZ Aristo, 45.7 x 19.1J cm / 18.0 x 7.5J in Tires: 225/40ZR-18 Bolt Pattern: 5x100 mm Rim Offset: 38mm (most aftermarket wheels for the R32 are 35mm offset as 38mm is rare)

How does Haldex influence wheel offset and vice versa?

Yeah so like you say, the official offset is 38, but like you also said, it's rare for aftermarket rims to be 38.. Hence why they're always advertised as 35..

I think it's just due to the Haldex system itself, the axles are a tad wider as far as i recall. But i could be wrong. Don't quote me on that.
Has no effect at all. Some say staggered wheels ruin the handling but the only thing that can ruin haldex is different RR

You might struggle if its a mkv as standard wheels are et52
I'm running 19 8.5 et42 with no problems best bet is to try one
