My discs and pads are nearing the end of their life and my brake fluid is also due a change so I'm looking to have the following done: -

New discs
New pads
Braided lines
Fluid change

The car is never tracked but gets used well on the road if that makes sense

What do you recommend for each of the above?

Thanks

OEM discs (Served me well for road use, never had any issues with OEM discs)
EBC Yellow pads, great stopping power, no fade, no noise. (I've used Pagid, Mintex, Textar, all from Eurocarparts, all crapppppppppp. No stopping power when you really go for it)

Braided lines? I've heard the VW ones are braided internally anyway?

Fluid - OEM. Again, served me fine for road use, and obviously fully compatable with the clutch system too

I've had EBC yellow stuff pads twice now and never had issues. They're good stuff.
Just recently changed my discs and went for EBC on them too. Was considering tarox but i never do track days just a little aggressive driving now and then. So went EBC ultimax grooved, they are cheaper than OEM but cracking quality so far. And look nicer too. Come powder coated to protect from the elements, but it wears off into a nice silver on the disc surface after a few miles.

pads just for there name but never used

discs again never used but from past posts by others and the garage i use for service time is only use genuine oem when it comes to discs or very well known ie tarrox / ap / brembo ect ect

the above link seems very cheap and you get what you pay for

i run tarrox discs all round and ds 2500 pads not cheap but they work well but i want brakes to perform well on track .

I see what your saying buddy, but if i was to give it a punt so to speak and they stopped well, then surely they are up to the job right ?

But stealers will rip you off, that's the point and EBC are a well known brake company. *shrug* each to their own.

I have ebc red stuff and ebc ultimax discs. Took a punt as i got a crackibg deal. All good here braking is strong and good only complaint is the discs are a little noisey when you really hammer them on but other than that they seem ok. Next time round ill go oem/zimmerman discs with some sort of pad, dunno what ones yet

OEM for the discs as the last time i looked they had come down a bit as well

Pads are still around 240 a set though for the fronts

Am running brakes international's on the front and are really good but would stick to OEM floating or the Zimmermann floating option
