Haven't seen a topic on this yet but was just curious, why did you buy an R ? was it looks ? power ? reliability ?

Just thought it would be of interest.

I purchased my mk5 r32 because I loved the style of it, the ride comfortability and reliability of the normal Volkswagen range, plus i rarely see many R's which i suppose does add some sort of unique to it, and the fact it's a golf with a 3.2 V6 Engine

I've always loved the MK4 R32 when i was younger as parents were looking into buying one, but never did end up getting one, But pester me into allowing them to drive it.

So......why did you buy an R ?

Some quality reads there guys, very interesting, I had my first car at 17 and had nothing but issues mainly caused by teenage driving (Clio 1.2) so started saving up for an 06 civic type r in red, but saved more for the mk5 although the rents love the mk4......and now I'm 21 i'm well over the moon I own an mk5 R, it cheers me up every time I see it and drive it.
